Animal Care and Veterinary Service and Ethics

The Animal Care and Veterinary Service and Ethics (ACVS) team ensures that the use of animals in research and in teaching conforms to the most rigorous ethical standards that are compatible with the goals of science. The team also ensures very high standards for all facilities which support research and teaching involving laboratory animals.

Biohazard and Radiation

All research and teaching activities involving biohazardous or potentially biohazardous materials must operate in compliance with relevant acts, regulations, guidelines, and codes of practice. The Biosafety Committee ensures this.

It is also required that researchers obtain a permit PRIOR to the acquisition and use of radiation or radioactive materials.
